Kathleen was born and raised in Sarnia. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western in 1980 and practiced nursing in London, Ontario for 12 years. Kathleen obtained her LL.B. from Western in 1994. She was admitted to the Bar in 1996.

Kathleen has practiced primarily in the areas of Administrative Law and in insurance defence/personal injury , including motor vehicle claims, medical malpractice claims and slip and fall claims. From March 2019 to December 2023, Kathleen was counsel to the Forensic Psychiatry Program at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, representing the Hospital at Ontario Review Board hearings.
