SUMMER STUDENTS

The summer student program

Similar to the Articling Program, we strive to provide interesting and challenging litigation work to law students.

Evans, Philp is a litigation boutique. The firm acts on behalf of insurance companies and their insured clients, only. The practice often involves torts, civil procedure, administrative law, contracts, and statutory interpretation. We represent our clients in both the court and tribunal settings. Our students obtain exposure to civil litigation under the supervision of the Student Committee and in the midst of peers.

In addition to performing work in litigation, commensurate with their skill level, our summer students will also be encouraged to pursue available educational opportunities and participate in firm events. We take the development of our students seriously; many of EP’s lawyers came through the same program.

Please note that our lawyers have long been involved with the careers personnel at Ontario law schools, and often participate in panel discussions and networking events related to litigation and the student experience. Articling information will also often be a worthwhile introduction to what is out there, even as you start out.

We typically do our summer student recruitment early each year. In addition to periodic updates here, details are provided for positing with all Ontario law schools.
