LARRY G. CULVER, Partner

Born: Dunnville, Ontario; admitted to Bar, 1975, Ontario.

Education: University of Toronto (B.A. Honours, 1970); Osgoode Hall (LL.B., 1973).

Areas of Practice: Mr. Culver’s practice has been in trial advocacy in commercial, administrative and insurance areas before all levels of the Ontario Judiciary with numerous Court appearances at the General Division level. He has and continues to appear on appeals and judicial review applications before the Divisional Court and Court of Appeal and before the Supreme Court of Canada.

Mr. Culver also developed our firm’s Management Labour and Employment Law Department, acting on behalf of employers. Services provided by Mr. Culver include the negotiation of collective agreements, grievance and arbitration representation, and preventive consultation. He appears on behalf of employers before the Ontario Human Rights Commission, the Labour Relations Board, Ontario Pay Equity Commission, Ministry of Labour (Ontario)-Employment Standards Branch, and Ministry of Labour-Occupational Health and Safety Branch. Mr. Culver has successfully defended a number of our clients who were charged under the Occupational Health and Safety Act for the Province of Ontario.

Mr. Culver has also developed our extensive Insurance Law practice, acting in that field since his call to the Bar in 1975, with appearances through all levels of the judicial hierarchy, including successfully arguing before the Supreme Court of Canada.

Mr. Culver is certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Specialist in Civil Litigation.

Mr. Culver has been awarded a Peer Review Rating of Very High Legal Ability & Ethical Standards from Martindale-Hubbell, as well as a rating of Repeatedly Recommended from Lexpert.

Recently, Mr. Culver has commenced a Mediation and Arbitration practice, which allows him to utilize his many years of experience in assisting parties in coming to an amicable resolution of their adversarial differences.
